Bank reconciliation

Every bank transaction matched to its invoice or receipt

Starthop imports your bank statements in the standard formats - camt.053, MT940, CSV, Excel and OFX - and matches each transaction to the invoice or receipt it belongs to. Your own rules and your history do most of the work; AI suggests the rest.

Standard formats, no AI needed

camt.053, MT940, CSV, Excel and OFX statements are read directly. Only a statement in an unrecognised format is read by AI.

Incoming payments close invoices

Payments are matched to open invoices by reference and amount, so paid invoices mark themselves as paid.

Outgoing payments find their receipt

Card payments and transfers are linked to the receipts and supplier invoices you uploaded.

Rules that learn

Recurring transactions are categorised by your rules and by what you decided before; AI only classifies what is left.

How it works

  1. 1

    Import the statement

Download it from your e-banking and upload it to Starthop.

  2. 2

    Review the matches

Confirm suggested matches or link a different document.

  3. 3

    Done

Invoices are paid, receipts are linked, the period is complete.

Frequently asked questions

Which bank statement formats are supported?

ISO 20022 camt.053, SWIFT MT940, CSV, Excel (.xlsx) and OFX. Statements in other formats can be read with AI.

Does Starthop connect to my bank directly?

No. You import the statement you download from your e-banking, so Starthop never needs your banking credentials.

What happens if a match is wrong?

Suggestions stay suggestions until you confirm them. You can unlink a document at any time and its previous status is restored.

Which plan includes bank reconciliation?

Bank statement import and reconciliation are part of the Banking module, included in the Ultra plan.
